Ginsburg & Obama (CNN)

Days ago, President Obama warned the U.S. Supreme Court against judicial activism on their part in examining the federal health care act known as Obamacare. He said the justices should not forget the millions who have already gained, and will attain, health benefits.

Not only did the President insult the High Court by inferring they will not be issuing a determination based on the constitutionality of Obamacare, he redefined judicial activism. As a former constitutional law professor, Obama knows better.

Judicial activism is deciding cases OUTSIDE of the framework of Constitutional validity, by vacating or contorting duly passed legislation in order to accomplish some social engineering or otherwise ‘beneficiary’ goals. Thus, it would be judicial activism if the Court were to uphold Obamacare because of some ‘misery’ index or perceived health inequity.

Of course it was the judicial activism in the Roe v Wade ruling that declared a ‘penumbra’ of privacy that trumps the primary right to life. However, the Roe ruling did allow a few counterbalancing state interests that have prevailed in subsequent litigation, including, but not limited to, the state’s right to promote childbirth and regulate the integrity of the medical arts.

During the past decades, the women’s movement, led by Ruth Bader Ginsburg as an ACLU attorney, fought to make the Court constrain laws that are gender-biased, patterned after the policy on race-bias. But the Court has not allowed that principle to trump abortion, and (more…)

President Obama has announced March 18 as his target date for Congress to approve a radical new health care plan for the nation.  Take action to stop this plan, and donate to the National Right to Life Committee.

NRLC’s Douglas Johnson said the current Senate bill that Obama and Democrats are ramming through (using the ‘reconciliation’ maneuvers reserved for budget bills) would result in direct federal funding of abortion through Community Health Centers, tax subsidies for private abortion plans that cover abortion (including some federally administered plans), and pro-abortion federal administrative mandates, among other problems.

UPDATE, March 8: Explanation and videos showing more lies from HHS head Kathleen Sebelius, Speaker Pelosi, and President Obama that the Senate health care bill (without the Stupak-Pitts  amendment) keeps the 34-years-long status quo of preventing federally-funded abortion. But the bill DOES fund abortion and the second video shows the very words from the bill! National Right to Life urgently warns,

it is the most pro-abortion single piece of legislation to reach the floor of either house of Congress since Roe v. Wade… the so-called abortion limits that are in the Senate bill are all very narrow, riddled with loopholes, or booby-trapped to expire.”

Under the Senate health care bill that will be the main bill Obama and Democrats push through Congress, there is (more…)

Prolifers warned the Roe v Wade decision, legalizing abortion through all nine months, would lead to infanticide.

Euthanasia for seriously ill newborns has been legal in the Netherlands under the  Groningen Protocol, which is currently in discussion to be expanded to kill infants for unrelievable “suffering” (not pain) in the FUTURE!

Lest you think the U.S. is not going down that path, a recent article in the online American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology promotes an ‘ethical framework’ justifying destruction of the disabled unborn.    The authors (a Cornell maternal-fetal specialist and a Baylor ethics prof) assert that doctors and parents facing  such cases have a ‘benificence-based’ obligation to prevent risk of live birth.

WHOA,whatever happened to judging right from wrong?  (more…)
