Mary Kay Culp, KFL Executive Director

In a speech given on the Kansas State Capitol steps last January, I said KFL’s 2011 legislative objectives reflected the recommendations of the Pennsylvania grand jury that investigated “House of Horrors” abortionist Kermit Gosnell.

Gosnell’s employees have already pleaded guilty to charges of murder, including the killing of one pregnant mother, and the routine killing of born-alive late-term babies. If you have the stomach for it, read the entire report.

The Gosnell grand jury said that to prevent this from ever happening again, one thing that had to change was for state inspectors to be allowed to review abortion files onsite. They pointed out that this, and every one of their strongly-worded recommendations, had been agreed upon by every member of the jury, representing the gamut of opinion on abortion.

Now, the Hodes-Nauser Center for Women’s Health clinic, with abortion lawyers at the Center for Reproductive Rights, have sued our state’s newly revised abortion clinic regulations that have replaced the temporary ones they sued in July.

The abortion industry complained loudly about the first set of regulations that (more…)

Psych expert , Dr. Liza Gold

The Kansas Board of Healing Arts intends to prove that abortionist Ann Kristin (Kris) Neuhaus failed to meet the standard of care when supplying late-term abortion referrals to George Tiller in 2003. The charges were filed in April 2010 and the hearing began Monday in Topeka.

The state’s case relies on the testimony of well-credentialed, east coast psychiatrist, Dr. Liza H Gold. She says that the psychiatric manuals and computer program that Neuhaus twice officially admitted to using–
for psychologically diagnosing women seeking late-term abortions
— both come with explicit warning “not to use them as cookbooks” to be applied mechanically by untrained individuals –like Neuhaus.

Gold reviewed files from Neuhaus and Tiller, as well as Neuhaus’ self-damaging testimony taken by former AG Phill Kline and her sworn statements in the Tiller misdemeanor trial of March 2009. Gold ticked off numerous deficiencies in the medical records of the 10 minors and 1 adult female whom Neuhaus “psychologically evaluated”, often for as little as 15 minutes, before stamping them with irreversible and substantial damage that justified aborting viable babies.

Neuhaus’ attorney Bob Eye asserted that abortions had not (more…)

Maddow spins failed KS abortionist as victim

According to the Kansas state Board of Healing arts, years of illegal late abortions were performed by George Tiller with Ann Kristin (Kris) Neuhaus as the rubberstamp for those abortions.

At the time of Tiller’s murder, and after Larry Buening was forced to resign as director, the Board was actively engaged in legal actions to remove Tiller’s medical license.  The Board is now– though twice delayed– scheduled to do the same to Neuhaus.

In a show vilifying Phill Kline and pro-life protestors as a whole, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow interviewed the reclusive Neuhaus Wednesday night.

Julie Burkhart

Pro-abortion zealots like Julie Burkhart are angry that Kansas politics is no longer under their thumb.

With news that annual abortion statistics will be medically accurate, Burkhart (creator of the Trust Women Political Action Committee) wailed: “The Kansas Legislature and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) have chosen to spend precious time this year, once again,

  • snooping into the private lives of pregnant women
  • collect[ing] sexual histories of women and girls and
  • policing the private lives of pregnant women.”

Wow!  Without those breath-taking lies, the ineffectual and factually-bereft lobbyists for Planned Parenthood and N.O.W. wouldn’t have any talking points.

Gone now from Kansas politics is the big money of George Tiller, the abortionist protection of the Kansas state Healing Arts Board director Larry Buening, and the power of former Gov. Kathleen Sebelius.

That undercut the power structure for Burkhart, who was Tiller’s top aide and director of his ProKanDo PAC.  In early 2009, Burkhart fled Kansas, having learned that Tiller was going to lose his medical license under Buening’s Healing Arts replacement, Jack Confer.

While she didn’t last long leading a liberal political group in Missouri, Tiller’s death created a opportunity for Burkhart to assert herself as a national spokeswoman with her “Trust Woman” PAC.

With her idol, Sebelius, esconced as Obama’s HHS director, Burkhart probably hoped abortion clinics would cement enough federal money to prop up her pulpit.  But then came the November elections.

Still, Burkhart continues to pontificate and assert blatant misinformation to the media about Kansas legislative and administrative actions.  The truth is– other than the veiled reference to a 2005 abortion death (Christin Gilbert)–

NO medical history or personal identification of
any aborted woman has ever been revealed
by ANY Kansas agency or official.

However, by lying about that fact, abortion zealots (more…)

Kermit Gosnell, owner, manager and licensed medical butcher at a ‘House of Horrors’ Philadelphia abortion clinic, has been arrested and charged with  multiple murders and other crimes after a 281-page, gruesome grand jury report.

Over decades, whistle-blowers had informed public officials at all levels of the wanton killings at Gosnel’s abortion business.    But a parade of government health bureaucrats and advocates protected the abortion racket: the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the Pennsylvania Department of State, the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, nearby hospital officials, and the National Abortion Federation.

Readers of this blog have seen a few photos of the “worse than third world conditions” at the Krishna Rajanna KCK abortion clinic.  After police were called to that business, and were repulsed and flabberghasted, they reported their observations to the local District Attorney’s office.   The then-DA sought–and was refused– help from the state Healing Arts board under Larry Buening. actual 2005 Kansas abortion clinic "recovery room" without clean sheets or professional monitoring

With news that two state-licensed physicians, Mila L. Means and Gregory S. Linhardt, are training  to open an abortion venture in Wichita, it is worth noting that

Kansas still has no law to inspect and license abortion clinics.

Any Kansas clinic that is essentially the office of a state-licensed physician is under the authority of the state Board of Healing Arts, and, since 2006, required to adhere to minimum safety and sanitation standards.

Abortion businesses, however, are notorious for cutting safety corners and using untrained, low-wage staff (see last week’s Florida example).  In part, this is because aborted women are resistant to protesting shoddy treatment and unhygienic facilities for fear of exposing their abortion.

This is why the fight to regulate abortion clinics has been so important and why  Kansans for Life – after years of having Sebelius prevent clinic regulation —quietly participated with a subcommittee of the Board, to design rules to at least help protect women.

In Dec. 2005, these “office-based-surgery rules” began to apply to  Kansas’ doctor-office surgical abortion clinics (numbering 6 in  2005, now 2) (more…)

Kris Neuhaus "rubber stamped" late abortions

The Kansas state Healing Arts Board is taking action against licensee Kristin Neuhaus for enabling illegal late-term abortions and AP reports a preliminary hearing took place last week.  Kansans for Life hopes this action, and loss of her license, can move forward quickly.

Neuhaus still has a state medical license, although it is of  “exempt” status.  On her 2010 renewal form, she described her professional activities as “Self-Employed, Solo-Practice…Charitable Health Care, Treatment of Family and Friends with no compensation.”

In the past, Neuhaus was observed assisting at an indigent clinic in Kansas City, Kansas but her current work address(es) are hidden by the Board.  Although  they have not done so for other Kansas abortionists, they have uniquely blocked her business addresses, citing open record exemption K.S.A. 45-221 (a)(30) to prevent “an invasion of personal privacy.”

Notably, 2 of the 3 non-Kansan abortionists who performed late-term abortions (more…)
