Kansas 3rd district constituents (Johnson County, Wyandotte County and part of the city of Lawrence) who have called U.S. Rep. Dennis Moore’s office in D.C. this week to urge him to vote against “The Rule” (that if passed will mean that the pro-life Stupak amendment to Pelosi’s Health Care Reform bill , H.R. 3962, cannot even be considered by the House) keep being told that there will be no such vote by the whole U.S. House–that the only such vote will be by the “rules committee” in the House, and that since Rep. Dennis Moore isn’t on the “rules committee”, he can’t/won’t be voting on it.
The National Right to Life Committe says that is NOT true and a vote on “The Rule” by the entire U.S. HOUSE, is planned for THIS Friday or Saturday!
Call U.S. Rep. Dennis Moore’s office(s) Thursday and Friday. If you have already called, they urge that we CALL AGAIN! TIME IS SHORT.
Rep. Moore’s Offices: Washington, D.C.: 1-202-225-2865
OVERLAND PARK, KS: (913) 383-2013
KANSAS CITY, KS: (913) 621-0832
LAWRENCE, KS: (785) 842-9313
Tell Moore’s minions that you don’t wish to argue the facts with them, you just want them to deliver this message: Rep. Moore, I am calling to urge you to vote against “The Rule” that would bar Rep. Stupak’s pro-life amendment to Pelosi’s Health Care bill from being voted on. Period. End of sentence. No more bologna!
For everyone else: Call the Capitol switchboard at 1-202-224-3121 and deliver the same message to all Kansas U.S. Reps. Those in U.S. Rep. Lynn Jenkins district (which makes a big “C” around K.C. area to top and bottom of Eastern Kansas and includes Topeka) should especially make sure to call!

Hot off the Presses: NYT: Haggling Over Abortion Compromise in Health Bill
The bill would establish a new government insurance plan, which would compete with private insurers around the country. Under the bill as now written, the secretary of health and human services could decide whether the public insurance option covers abortions…
…Ahead of the vote, President Obama is planning to visit the Capitol on Friday to meet with the House Democratic caucus.
Gee, fellow Kansans, what do you think the ‘secretary of health and human services’ will decide????????? And as to President Ombama visiting Capitol Hill Friday morning: JUST MAKE SURE THAT THE PHONES HE HEARS RINGING ARE BECAUSE OF YOUR CALLS!
