Obama unhappy Sen. Moran opposing Six; vote delayed

An unhappy White House called Kansas’ U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran’s office Thursday, in response to his public statement opposing confirmation of former Kansas AG Steve Six to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Apparently, the Obama administration wanted Moran to change his mind, but a top staffer said he will not, according to info from the pro-life Kansas Republican Assembly.

High court nominees must get Senate confirmation, following recommendation from the Judiciary committee, which has 10 Democrats-to-8 GOP members.

It’s bad news when the nominee’s home state senators won’t support him– which explains the sudden one-week delay on the vote for Six.

Frequently, opposition from home state lawmakers is enough to sink a nomination and such nominees eventually withdraw, have their nomination pulled by the presidential administration or find themselves the subject of a filibuster.(read more here)

March 18 deadline for abortion-packed Obamacare

President Obama has announced March 18 as his target date for Congress to approve a radical new health care plan for the nation.  Take action to stop this plan, and donate to the National Right to Life Committee.

NRLC’s Douglas Johnson said the current Senate bill that Obama and Democrats are ramming through (using the ‘reconciliation’ maneuvers reserved for budget bills) would result in direct federal funding of abortion through Community Health Centers, tax subsidies for private abortion plans that cover abortion (including some federally administered plans), and pro-abortion federal administrative mandates, among other problems.

UPDATE, March 8: Explanation and videos showing more lies from HHS head Kathleen Sebelius, Speaker Pelosi, and President Obama that the Senate health care bill (without the Stupak-Pitts  amendment) keeps the 34-years-long status quo of preventing federally-funded abortion. But the bill DOES fund abortion and the second video shows the very words from the bill! National Right to Life urgently warns,

“it is the most pro-abortion single piece of legislation to reach the floor of either house of Congress since Roe v. Wade… the so-called abortion limits that are in the Senate bill are all very narrow, riddled with loopholes, or booby-trapped to expire.”

Human embryos not safe under NIH guidelines

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) guidelines for “embryo protection in research,” adopted by President Obama– are proving to be as tough as Barney Fife and as worthless as the public comments overwhelmingly indicated they’d be.

NIH definitions can be changed by executive order and now are being “fudged” in order to facilitate embryo harvesting and cloning.  According to stem cell expert David Prentice:

“The NIH guidelines are not ethical, they simply provide a recipe for human embryo destruction so that taxpayers’ funds can be used to reward the scientists.”

The guidelines are being massaged to remove an impediment to human embryonic experimenters, including Harvard’s George Daley.   With Gov. Sebelius’ blessing, the  pro-cloning Kansas City Stowers group, wanted to bring embryonic stem cell & cloning research here and thus heavily lobbied — along with KU– to weaken Kansas’ bio-science laws.

Arms of the Stowers Institute  set up front groups in Kansas and Missouri called ‘Coalitions for Life-Saving Cures’ to mislead the public about the need for destructive stem cell research.

This summer, the Kansas group disbanded and awarded their war chest to lawmakers, probably believing the public doesn’t need propaganda when the embryonic funding is flowing in an Obama administration.  Take note of who received donations in this state report:

“Pro-life” Democrats secure abortion-funding Senate health bill as public support drops

Public support is rapidly sinking for an obscenely anti-life Senate health care bill supported by the Obama administration.  Lifenews.com reports today on a poll, from the reliable Rasmussen group, that 56 % of the public now oppose the bill– the lowest level of support in nearly two dozen tracking polls since June.

The measure passed a crucial procedural vote Saturday night with the support of self-professed pro-life Democrat Senators.

Democrats’ concerns over abortion may imperil health bill

Today’s (Tues. Nov. 3)  Washington Post headline above (written before the great election returns came in, which makes it even better) warms the cockles of my heart!

Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Planned Parenthood and NARAL, like the King of England watching William Wallace, can’t believe it!

Of course, the fight is far from over, but while the swords clash, something strikes me again that I’ve long known: the millions spent by Obama-Care opponents on regular lobbying groups are misplaced.  It is the poor, but effective, grassroots groups like ours (that are so busy on the front lines that we’ve barely had time to send out our Fall fundraising letters), and our good friends, the Tea Partiers, that are really making a difference!

So, hey, America, OVER HEEEERRREEE!

If you want to defeat Obama/Pelosi/Reid-Care, then invest in  the truth uniquely offered by pro-life efforts that, as the headline suggests, may well end up being the ONLY issue that, since it crosses party lines, can truly defeat this horrible abortion/death laden so-called “health care” bill!
